The HKTDC Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair took on a welcome fresh look in 2009. Building up from the fair’s good reception, the 2010 event features more than 120 quality exhibitors from around the world, and will again be held at the downtown location of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event helps participants make the most of the growing business opportunities in the medical devices and supplies areas – opportunities driven by greater awareness of the need for healthy living and by the huge rise in home-based care. These factors are especially important in the increasingly affluent Asian market. This is particularly the case in the Chinese mainland, where medical expenditure is rising as a result of the nation’s Rmb850 billion medical-care system reform plan.
Valuable Opportunities through Variety |

The event is meticulously organised around special themes to help you zone in on the products of most interest to you.

Anyone interested in the future of the medical devices and supplies market should head to the Tech Exchange. This zone features new devices, supplies and concepts with strong business prospects whose developers are eager to link up with manufacturers, entrepreneurs and investors in order to maximise the business potential of their developments.
New this year is the Laboratory Equipment Zone, which features different types of testing equipment. This is a future high-growth area, with testing and certification now one of the six pillar industries promoted by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, while simultaneously becoming increasingly important in other markets.
The growing need for medical supplies in the hospital and home-based long-term care sectors is the focus of the Medical Supplies and Disposables Zone. This zone showcases products such as gloves, incontinence & stoma aids, and masks, plus many other related items for which demand is increasing every year. |
