Presence of Medical Industry Players |
 |

Welcoming over 210 international and local exhibitors this year, the HKTDC Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair 2013 opened yesterday and was flooded with industry players. Grab your chance to visit these themed product zones today.

Public and private hospitals play a key role in providing healthcare services and they are usually the pioneers in trying out new medical technology and devices. In the “Hospital Equipment” zone, buyers can discover the latest products available in the market. For examples, electric hospital bed, infusion pump and multi-parameter patient monitor, etc..

Healthcare and nursing institutes, for example, elderly homes, or individual households, make use of various medical or personal care products daily. The “Household Medical Products” zone, covering products like blood pressure monitor, sleep apnea recorder and fitness equipment, provides one-stop sourcing convenience for them.

The booming medical aesthetics market creates numerous business opportunities and these products are sought after by the market. The newly created “Medical Cosmetology” zone showcases equipment such as IPL (intense pulsed light) device and laser devices for the beauty and dermatology uses.

Just across the border, several medical devices and supplies exhibitors from Shenzhen are present at the fair in the Shenzhen Pavilion.

Hear What Buyers Say |
 |
”I am coming to this fair to get inspirations for the Japan medical products market. Since late 1990s, there has been a very rapid development in advanced medical science since scientists are able to read and translate the DNA coding. We are targeting medical equipment, Invitro Diagnostic equipment (IVD), healthcare products and Point of Care Technology (POCT). I appreciate the buyers’ tour which provides me with a clear picture on the industry updates, new products available, and the latest development. And I sincerely believe that Hong Kong will continue to be the hub of analytical instruments and life science industry that connects Asia and the world.”
Mr Hisashi Iwase, Senior Manager, Field Marketing Development, Agilent Technologies Japan Ltd., Japan
“Since the 1980s, the focus of our company was to bring in woman health care products to the Canadian market. We have now expanded into the areas of surgical, medical and health products. This time, I am looking for cryosurgery and colposcopy products here and I am happy to find a laser crossover infrared light technology as a bonus. Nevertheless, I could get myself updated on what is in the market, get connected with the suppliers, browse their products and meet new contacts.
This is my first time in Hong Kong and I am surprised and amazed at the good organisation of the fair. Everything is well prepared and taken care of, and there are fruitful fringe programs and guided tours. “
Nicholas Han, Senior Materials Manager, Superior Medical Limited, Canada
“We are a manufacturing company from Vietnam looking for opportunities to line up with suppliers from the Chinese mainland. We source materials from the Chinese mainland, India and Korea. After manufacturing in our factories, we export our products to Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. During the first morning here, we were already able to place 5 orders on the pharmacist and medical products we have been looking for. This is the first time we visit the HKTDC Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair, and we find it really interactive and cozy. The business matching service is efficient, which helps us to find the right suppliers with pre-arranged appointments.”
DS. Bui Van Tong, General Manager, TV. Pharm Pharmaceutical Joint-stock Company, Vietnam

Here What Exhibitors Say |
 |
“Our company was founded in 2004 and we specialize in tactical medicine. We produce carrier device for transporting and moving injured patients (or materials) in unsurfaced areas to helicopter pads or airlift areas in typical large-scale emergency or natural disaster scenarios. This device is easy-to-use, safe, strong and durable and is widely used in the Italy and the US army, and we believe that it is time that we bring this device to the East. I have been to this fair two to three times before and this is the first time I become an exhibitor. I believe in this exhibition and I think Hong Kong is the door to my target countries like the Chinese mainland, Japan, Australia, India, New Zealand etc. This fair is very well organized and everyone responds quickly. I am able to meet the “right” persons I want to find. Today I have already received enquiries from representatives from Singapore, the Chinese mainland, the Philippines, India and Iran.”
Flavio Limontini, Founder & CEO, Flamor S.r.l., Italy
“The product we feature in the show this year is the TruScreen system, which is an electro-optical technology that provides a direct means of tissue differentiation as a primary screening tool for cervical cancer and precancerous change. Unlike the conventional Pap test, the TruScreen system provides a real-time result from the portable device, which saves the time and effort in delivering samples to laboratories for analysis and reporting. We are launching this product in Hong Kong and targeting developing countries where there is a lack of infrastructure and highly trained personnel to read the smear in the Pap test.
The fair provides us a platform to demonstrate our latest product to the potential buyers, and we are expecting more healthcare professionals to come along with the concurrent Hospital Authority Convention to introduce to them our unique technology.”
Maggie Shi, General Manager, MTI Group, Hong Kong
“We are showcasing our CAREase Inductive Diaper and Integrated Wetness Care System in this show. With this system, parents or nursing staff monitoring infants or elderly patients can now accurately and remotely monitor diaper moisture without resorting to physical checks. This is a breakthrough to improve wearers’ comfort, skin protection and hygiene, better control diaper waste and reduce embarrassment especially of elderly patients.
We have participated in this fair for three years and we come back because of the superb service and support from the fair organiser, and the ample opportunities for us to open up more sales channels. In the fair, we can get instant feedbacks and comments from potential buyers, and make advancements and improvements in our products accordingly.”
Kevin Wong, CEO, CKICOM Technology Limited, Hong Kong
