| The Fair celebrated on 18 May evening with a networking reception that brought together VIP buyers, exhibitors, industry leaders and media representatives. Guests enjoyed food, drinks and mingled in a relaxing atmosphere after a busy day. |

 “In business for 14 years, Meditechnology is the second-largest medical equipment supplier in Sri Lanka. We distribute and supply a variety of medical devices to hospitals and medical institutions. This is my first visit to this Medical Fair to source new medical equipment as well as anesthesia and respiratory care products. So far, I’ve identified 10 to 12 potential suppliers from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and already got quotations for some medical disposables such as surgical gowns, blood lines, mesh underpants and wound dressings. We will conduct further talks and the registration process for importing the new products is expected to take six to eight months. Initially, we will place orders of US$10,000 to US$50,000 subject to negotiation. I’ve also spotted an innovative wheelchair that can climb stairs. We will try and work out a deal with the Hong Kong exhibitor also. Hong Kong is a central hub in Asia for business development. I hope to visit the fair again to find more new medical technologies.”

 “Meyra specialises in the production of sophisticated wheelchairs including sports wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs in Czech Republic. We also source a range of traditional wheelchairs and medical devices for elderly care and rehabilitation from different places of the world. This is my first-time visit to this Hong Kong Medical Fair. I’ve got in touch with many exhibitors and shortlisted five potential suppliers from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan and Korea for different interesting items. They include wheelchairs with special designs that can let the needy users stand up, foldable wheelchairs for easier transport, walking aids as well as bathtub seats and toilet seats for the elderly. Initial orders are estimated at US$30,000 to US$50,000. We need to test the quality of products and discuss further with the suppliers to conclude details. This fair offers a broad range of medical devices and products, making it a good place for our sourcing.”

 “Bangkok Medisupply is a leading distributor of medical and healthcare products and solutions in Thailand. We supply a great variety of items to a large number of pharmacies, hospitals and convenience stores across the country. I am visiting this Medical Fair for the third year. The organiser has arranged some useful business matching meetings with exhibitors. So far, I’ve found three potential suppliers from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland for gauze pads. It’s great to see some innovative ideas such as a special fabric for wound dressings and the application of nanotechnology in gauze pads. It will take some time to go through the registration process for the import of these new items. Further negotiation will be conducted and product testing is needed before placing orders. It’s our intention to place about US$20,000 of orders per item.”

 “Active Fun is making its debut presence at this Medical Fair to introduce a high-quality bouncing device "Health Bounce Pod" to customers worldwide. The device is designed to help the elderly or people limited in their movements to work out or exercise with safe support. This fair offers a very important platform to present the new concept of rebound therapy and its benefits to body coordination and rehabilitation as well as brain functioning. We’ve met with many buyers from different places including Hong Kong, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Czech Republic, Japan and the Middle East. They expressed keen interest in buying our product. If we were to sell it during the exhibition, some 100 units would have been taken by buyers already. We focus on developing long-term business relationship and will discuss further with the new contacts for cooperation. We’re really happy with the results and will definitely attend the fair again.”

 “We are launching our new Toothbat designs at the Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair to draw local and international customers. This is our second-year participation and the exhibition is very successful. A large number of buyers have come forward to explore business cooperation. They really like our Toothbat, an innovative tool that helps people use dental floss effortlessly. This year’s highlights include our WOW and Childers series with sleek design. The response has exceeded our expectation with the immediate sellout of 500 sets in less than two days. Buyers are required to make pre-orders now. Besides Hong Kong customers, we’ve established ties with many buyers from different markets including the Chinese mainland, Japan, Costa Rica, India, Korea, Thailand and Australia. Some of them want to be our distributors. The results are excellent. We will continue exhibiting here to release new items and raise our presence.”

 “Dracaena Life Technologies provides computer-based medical simulation engineering solutions for medical practitioners. This is our second-year participation in this fair to promote our virtual reality and visualisation technologies for applications in healthcare learning and surgical training. Special highlight is our cutting-edge acuSim virtual reality-based acupuncture simulator for training traditional Chinese medicine practitioners in practising needle therapy skills. We’ve attracted strong interest especially from local practitioners and many of them have lined up to try the application. A Chinese mainland medical consultant has approached us to exchange insights on the technologies of radio frequency ablation and microwave ablation procedures. This fair is an excellent platform to explore cooperation through constructive exchanges between professional practitioners, which can bring about new applications and business opportunities. This is a highly professional fair allowing effective exchanges for partnership and business development.”
